White-tailed deer summit to be hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension office August 3

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Taylor County will conduct a special seminar on white-tailed deer.

On August 3, the AgriLife Extension office will host a White-tailed Deer Summit in Big Country Hall located on the grounds of the Taylor County Expo Center.

The summit will include 2 sessions, one on managing property for white-tailed deer and the second on keys for hunting season success. The first session will run from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The second will run from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will include a meal. Each session will include special topics and speakers.

Attendance for both sessions is not required, but is encouraged.

“We’ve scheduled this program to help our landowners improve their management strategies for white-tailed deer and to help hunters ensure a successful hunting season,” said Thomas Cunningham, AgriLife Extension assistant agent in Taylor County.  “All the presentations will be timely and delivered by speakers with firsthand knowledge of their respective topics. It should be interesting for anyone — hunters, landowners and managers—with white-tailed deer interests in our region.”

Registration for individuals is $15 if registered by August 1, and $20 for later registrations. the registration includes both sessions and an evening meal.
