Woman's body in semi-truck along I-20 in West Texas, murder charges filed

ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) - The Ector County Sheriff's Office filed murder charges on Monday against a suspect involved in the woman found dead in a semi-truck on Monday evening.

Sheriff Mike Griffis says they responded to a call about a possible stabbing at the Road Ranger Travel Stop near the corner of Moss Avenue and I-20 in Odessa.

When authorities arrived, deputies report that they found the woman's body.

"We don't know the condition of the body at this time," said Griffis.

While the initial call was for a stabbing, Griffis says authorities don't know what the cause of death is or where the incident occurred.

"It appears that this possibly did happen here, but we can't confirm that," said Griffis.

The Ector County Medical Examiner later arrived on the scene to assess the body.

Griffis also added that he believes the victim and possible suspect knew each other.
