Many businesses in the Abilene area have 'Help Wanted' signs posted in their windows. As summer vacation comes to end, so do the hours of high school employees.

Managers say that the high school employees either leave or cut back their hours. But mangers are willing to work around their school schedule so they can continue working.

During the summer, high schoolers work a majority of the shifts since they have the time. Once summer ends, businesses feel the impact.

The owner of Chicken Express, Stephen Davis, says he does receive some relief from college students when they return. He says it's definitely a roller coaster of employment around this time of year.
