More restaurant chains in Abilene are continuing to see counterfeit money.

For the past few weeks, the Abilene Police Department and the Better Business Bureau have noticed a rise of counterfeit bills being used around the Key City.

On Saturday, someone tried to pay their meal at McDonald's on North 1st with a counterfeit $50 bill. Later that day, police reported another case at Firehouse Bar and Grill.

The BBB is advising all businesses to be on the lookout for the fake money. Abilene police have recently reported a steady increase over the past few weeks.

If you spot a counterfeit bill, please contact the Abilene Police Department at (325) 673-8331.
