Mother's Day is almost here and that means a busy week for Baack's Florist here in Abilene.

"The last few days, you get the last minute shoppers like Christmas," said Russell Taylor.

"Everybody's coming in, they forgot to get something and wanna get something good for mom."

Taylor has been brought in as extra help, he is working deliveries.

"Right now we're going to Rivercrest," said Taylor as he looked down at the next address they had scheduled on their delivery route.

Taylor adds that he enjoys this part of his job very much.

"It's great, it's kinda like your a son giving it to your mom it's a special feeling and they're happy to see the flowers and it's a warm feeling," he said.

Luke Harwell is the owner of Baack's.  Harwell told us that Mother's Day is historically one of the busiest weeks for flower shops.

"The week of mother's day is busier than the week of valentine's day," he said.

But, he said they are ready.

"We are pretty prepared for the holiday , we forecast what kind of business we plan to do and hope to do," he said.

Harwell also added that they take orders up until the last minute.

"We have something for everybody and will continue to take calls for delivery all the way through tomorrow until we're sold out," he said.

So if you're one of those last minute shoppers and need something for mom, Harwell said don't be afraid to call them and place an order.
