Murder Trial Underway in Eastland County

EASTLAND COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A murder trial is underway in Eastland County for a suspect accused of shooting and killing a man after a confrontation in Ranger last June.

Donald Davis, 53, is standing trial for the Murder. Jury selection took place on Monday, and the testimony portion of the trial began Tuesday morning.

Davis is accused of shooting and killing Bobby Blair at a home on the 1300 block of Young Street in Ranger on June 15, 2016.

Davis' wife spoke out to KTAB and KRBC, saying her husband acted out of self defense when Blair charged at him during a confrontation.

KTAB and KRBC also spoke to Davis while he was an inmate at the Eastland County Jail. He claims there had been several altercations between Blair and his family.

"I begged and begged for the police to keep him away from my house. . ." Davis added. "He came everyday, he threatened me in front of my neighbors."

BigCountryHomepage is following Davis' case and will provide the latest updates as they become available.
