Hardin Simmons is growing.

After an announcement that the school has received the largest donation in its history, a 16-million dollar gift, HSU unveiled long range plans for campus improvements, those plans include an expansion of the campus, new buildings, and changes to some well traveled streets.

People who live in the neighborhood around HSU know the school likely has a future interest in their property, and while they say it's great for Hardin Simmons, they wonder how it will impact them. Several folks we spoke with say they are supportive of the expansion plan, and most seemed to wonder about what the expansion will do to neighborhood traffic.

A look at the plan shows Pine Street being shortened and merging into Treadaway a bit further south from where the two currently meet, which would likely slow traffic in the area.
