"We wanna build it for them," says Gonzalo "Speedy" San Miguel of the Sweetwater Kiwanis Club. "Not for us, for them, what's good for them."

San Miguel is talking about a new skate park that is currently in the works.

"Football players have a place to go play, baseball players, basketball players, they all have a venue," he says.

A couple of local skateboarders couldn't agree more.

"It's gonna give a spot for skaters to skate and not have to worry about, like traffic, or cops or anything. It's just a spot for skaters," says Dylan Edwards.

Edwards has been skating for close to four years and says he feels this new skate park will bring skaters closer together.

"It will give us a place to go and hang out," explains Edwards.

The Kiwanis Club hopes to raise the money needed for the skate park. They estimate costs will be anywhere from $75,000 to $100,000.
