One Man in Critical Condition, One Arrested, Following Brownwood Shooting

BROWNWOOD, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - One man is in critical condition and another is behind bars after a shooting in Brownwood Saturday afternoon.

Brownwood Police Officers responded to a call on the 300 block of North Greenleaf Street of a reported shooting. Officers located a 29-year-old male victim in a home suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers learned a person involved with the shooting fled the scene on foot toward the City of Early.

Early Police Department and Brown County Sheriff's Office Deputy located the suspect, 25-year-old Preston Dilon Browne, on CC Woodson Road near South Broadway Street in Brownwood.

Browne was arrested and booked in the Brown County Jail where he is charged with Tampering with Fabricating Physical Evidence and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, both Third Degree Felonies.

Browne's bond has not  been set.

The victim was transported to Hendrick Medical Center and is in critical condition.
