One Man In Stable Condition After An Early Morning Shooting In Coleman County

A shooting in Santa Anna, has sent one man to the hospital and another is in custody.

Two people were detained in connection with the shooting. A man is being held on an old warrant with no bail, and a woman was questioned by the Coleman County Sheriff's Department in Coleman.

The shooting took place at a home on the 600 block of Willis in Santa Anna.  It happened around 3:30 a.m. Friday. The shooting victim was shot through a vehicle window.

Around 8:30 a.m. Friday, police surrounded an abandoned home on Avenue D and South 2nd, two blocks away from where the shooting took place, and pulled a person of interest from the home.

The detail are not being released by investigators, but Santa Anna residents are talking. Many know the man who was shot. Residents say they are worried the shooting was a result of a growing drug problem.

So far, no charges have been filed and at this time no suspect has been named.

The shooting victim is in stable condition at an Abilene hospital.
