Police:Crime In Abilene Has Increased

ABILENE, TEXAS - Abilene Police are hoping National Night Out will help curb growing city crime rates. According to the department, many crimes are on the rise in the Key City. Police compared crime rates for the past three years and found that assault, aggravated assault, robbery, motor vehicle theft, burglary of a motor vehicle, burglary and homicide have all seen increases. I don't know about you but I'm not ok with that,"says Police Chief Stan Standridge. These statistics only look at the months January to September of each year. Other crimes, such as rape and theft, have seen increases since 2013, but have also decreased since 2014.
