Black Friday our cars will be sitting in parking lots, full of door busters and other Christmas gift, and thieves know that.

The Abilene Police Department is offering tips to keep your Christmas bargains safe, and they are recommending an extreme solution. The problem, is anyone really going to go through the trouble of keeping bought items with them while  they continue shopping.

Officer George Spindlier, with the Abilene Police Department, knows how much trouble it will be, but he says,

"We want you to remove your items from your vehicles, keep them with you, from shopping center to shopping center, keep your car keys with you and lock your cars."

There is something else you can do, for others, and hope they do it for you. Spindlier said if you see something suspicious call 911.

The Abilene Police Department Bike Unit will also be out in Abilene shopping center parking lots on Black Friday.
