"What we're trying to do is expand our global conscienceness," says Ben White. He's a McMurry student participating in World Village this week, by camping out in front of the University.

"Living on two dollars a day and with no technology and with no running water no clean source of food no clean source of water that's kind of inaccessible for us," he adds.

World Village week is a time where students raise money for Mission trips and camp out to understand poverty a bit more.

"Living in solidarity with our brothers and sisters around the world..and the countries which we go to for mission trips which is India, Africa and Haiti," said Tereza Sliter, organizer of this years event.

She hopes to raise enough money to get her back to India for a few weeks this summer.
