Abilene Police Investigating Rash of Robberies

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Abilene Police are investigating a rash of robberies within city limits over the past couple of weeks.

Police told KTAB and KRBC they believe three different individuals or organizations are responsible for dozens of robberies at convenience stores and other businesses in Abilene. No suspects have been publicly identified in connection to these crimes.

At least three of the robberies happened Sunday into Monday.

Incident reports filed with the Abilene Police Department say a collectibles business on the 3500 block of N. 6th Street, an Allsups on the 2300 block of Barrow Street, and a West-T-Go on the 5000 block of Hwy 277 were all robbed between between 1:30 p.m. Sunday and 8:30 p.m. Monday.

An unknown suspect demanded cash at all three locations before fleeing, though it's not known if the same suspect was involved in these robberies.

KTAB and KRBC were on scene of another robbery at an Allsups at the corner of N. 10th Street and Mockingbird Lane around 3:00 p.m. Monday. Police said a suspect entered the store and acted like he had a weapon, allowing him to steal an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police have also released surveillance video of a suspect caught on camera robbing convenience stores at Pine Street and S. 1st Street over the weekend.

Investigators are asking anyone who has information about the suspect to call Abilene Crimestoppers at (325)676-8477 - tips could lead to a cash reward!

Another gas station on the 200 block of Pioneer Drive  was robbed just before 2:00 a.m. Saturday. It's unknown if this robbery is related to the others reported.
