When those hot summer months strike the Big Country, the Salvation Army serves as a cooling station, and as a result their utility bill sky rockets.

To combat the problem, the Salvation Army is asking for donations to keep the A/C running, to cool down everyone.

But, that money isn't just keeping everyone cool, it's also feeding them. In July they are expected to serve 10,000 meals to the people. So, they are in need of help from additional volunteers.
