SO WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING?
You always want to choose foods that have a good bit of protein and/or fiber because both of those will help to keep you satisfied.
Something as simple as a peanut butter and honey sandwich on whole grain bread and some fruit.
Also,think about bringing nuts, it can be pistachios, walnuts, or even a trail mix that has a little bit of dried fruit in there.
And stay hydrated!!! Bring water or veggies with high water content like snap peas and grape tomatoes.
EATING HEALTHY CAN ALSO KEEP YOU FROM GETTING "HANGRY."
Hangry is that terrible combination of being angry and hungry, when you start getting grouchy at your loved ones in the car or plane with you. It's when that blood sugar drops and everybody tends to get a little testy or a little moody.
And low blood sugar levels can make all the wrong choices look oh so inviting.
To combat this, eat something nutritious every 4 hours and make sure you plan for a real meal while you are on the road. Snacking can only get you so far, you have to refuel your body in the same way that you refuel your car.
So schedule a meal stop and eat a well-balanced meal before you get back on the road. It will keep the Hangry Monster at bay and help you stay healthy too.
