Dawson, Cowgirls Both Place Third at Taylor Made/Adidas Intercollegiate

DATAW ISLAND, S.C. — Hardin-Simmons’ women’s golf team and sophomore Dylan Dawson both placed third at the Taylor Made/Adidas Intercollegiate that was held at the Dataw Island Club in Dataw Island, S.C.

It was a tough finish for Dawson who went to the 16th tee with a two-shot lead in the individual race. She finished the final three holes six-over par and settled for a tie for third place two shots behind Liz Stephens of Cumberlands.

Cumberlands won the team title with scores of 322 and 331 for a 653 total. They beat second place Wittenberg by 18 shots and HSU finished with a 344-349-693. Bridgewater, Ohio Wesleyan, Millikin, Washington and Lee and MacMurray rounded out the field.

Kylee Emerson shot 86-85-171 and placed in a tie for 11th. Kara Doege finished 20th with a 91-88-179. Traci Tschirhart shot 90-92-182 and Cassi Smith shot 93-91-184.

HSU will return to action March 24-25 at the Hal Sutton Invitational in Shreveport.
