HSU's Dawson Leads Taylor Made/Adidas Intercollegiate

DATAW ISLAND, S.C. — Hardin-Simmons sophomore Dylan Dawson fired a 77 and is leading the women’s medalist race of the Taylor Made/Adidas Intercollegiate at the par-72, 5,820-yard Dataw Island Club in Dataw Island, S.C.

The Cowgirls are in third place as a team after a 344 total. NAIA power Cumberlands leads the event with a 322 total and Division III Wittenberg is second with a 335 score. Ohio Wesleyan, Bridgewater (Va.), Millikin, Washington and Lee (Va.) and MacMurry (Ill.) round out the field.

Dawson shot a 36-41 for her 77 and had 11 pars and a birdie. She has a one-shot lead over Nicole Waers of Wittenberg.
Kylee Emerson led the rest of the Cowgirls and is tied for 12th after shooting an 86. Traci Tschirhart shot a 90, Kara Doege 91, and Cassi Smith a 93.

The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday.
