McMurry Men's Golf 15th at The Territory Classic

DUNCAN, Okla. – The McMurry men’s golf team managed a 15th place finish at The Territory Classic, hosted by Cameron University at The Territory Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 14-15).

The War Hawks fell from 10th place after the first day of competition on Monday. McMurry scored a 318 on Day 1 and a 326 in Tuesday’s final round, for a final score of 644.

Junior Garrett Betts led the McMurry team as the only member of the squad with a top-25 finish. Betts carded rounds of 75 and 80, for a 36-hole total of 155 and good for a tie for 24th place.

Fellow junior Matt Porter was the team’s next placer, tied for 42nd, after rounds of 80 and 79 (159). Mitchel Fagen was tied for 45th with his two-day total of 160 (78-82).

Curtis Stanley’s 170 (tie 68th) and Seth Abbott’s 178 (76th) rounded out the McM scoring roster.
