The ACU Wildcats have been struggling as of late in their first season in the NCAA Division I competition.

The Wildcats started the season with six wins in their first eight games, but since that time head coach Britt Bonneau's Wildcats have lost eight of nine, including losses to Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.

It's been tough, and pitching coach Josh Scott says his team is still up beat about the rest of the season.

Josh Scott said "When we were down we the approach of just taking one at bat at a time, one pitch at a time, and our guys really surrendered to that approach. Our theme this week has been mental toughness. So, our guys are really preparing. We're doing a lot of hard work on the field this week. We're getting a little rest just not having a game every day. So, our guys have an optimistic attitude, and we're redy to go down to Alabama and get some wins."

The Wildcats continue the season this weekend on the road against Alabama A&M. They play a doubleheader on Friday and a single game on Sunday.
