On Friday night, the pallet yard on Ruidosa Avenue engulfed in flames, and smoke continued to linger the following day. Several units including a brush truck were called to the same scene before 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
The Texas A&M Forest Service was also at the scene with two bulldozers and an engine to help reinforce the line around the fire and prevent it from spreading.
Neighbors who live by the scene say smoke is seeping into their homes. They are staying hopeful but understands the winds are making the situation difficult.
"I knew it would take a long time for it to burn out," says Dennis Regan. "It's like a cotton barrel, all you can do is let it sit there and burn."
So far, the cause is still unknown.
