The Veterans Affairs office has hosted a thanksgiving meal for the public for two and a half decades. This long standing tradition was almost broken last year when there were not enough donations to pay for the meal.

Thanks to individuals and businesses stepping up, the thanksgiving meal did happen last year and is in the planning process for this year.

Hours of planning goes into planning this event and the Veteran Affairs office says that donations are needed. They need money, food, and volunteers to make this event happen.

Around 1,200 people rely on this free meal each year and each plate costs around $10 for the Veterans Affairs office.

To donate, call or stop the Veterans Affairs office. They are located at 400 Oak Street in the Taylor County Plaza.
