The Taylor County Expo Center is home to many tournaments throughout the year that bring in about $20 million dollars to the City of Abilene.

But without updated facilities, the center is concerned events will be looking at other towns for their future shows.

In order to keep up with the Joneses, the Expo Center has asked Taylor County for $75,000 to install new horse stalls.

Currently some of the stalls are temporary and rusted, and according their General Manager, proper horse housing is critical in drawing competitors to Abilene.

Without it, some owners may not be willing to bring their $30,000 animals to the Key City, and without the thousands that come to town every year, the effects will be felt by not just local business owners.
