Two in Critical Condition After Nolan Co. Crash

NOLAN COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Two people are in critical condition after two trucks crashed into guardrails on an icy bridge in Nolan County Monday morning.

Emergency crews responded the wreck on Hwy 70 just south of Sweetwater around 7:30 a.m.

Both trucks collided then crashed into separate guardrails on the bridge, trapping two occupants inside. First responders were able to remove the victims from their trucks after a "lengthy extrication," according to the Sweetwater Fire Department.

Both victims of the crash are currently hospitalized in critical condition. One was air-lifted to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene and one was taken by ambulance to Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

The Fire Department says the icy bridge may have been a factor in the crash.
