The parade of homes happened over two weekends, it ends Sunday, June 29th. Galen Van Allen, the chairman of the parade of homes says this year is their largest turnout.
Last year they had around 1,000 people walk through homes, but this year over one weekend they had 750 people show up.
Many homeowners or future homeowners attend the event to either buy homes or get ideas to build or remodel their current home.
Van Allen says, that this event makes it easier for people to connect with contractors. But it's not only good for homeowners but also contractors.
These two weekends allow contractors to network and meet lots of people to sell homes to or build homes.
A majority of the subdivisions are new. Van Allen says, that real estate has definitely gone up and people are more willing to buy or design a home than they were in years past.
The event cost $5 dollars for one ticket, but if you bought a ticket last weekend visitors were able to use it again this weekend.
All the money goes back to the Abilene Home Association, which will be used for scholarships in the Abilene area.
