UPDATE: 19-Year-Old Killed From North Abilene Complex Stabbing

Update 9:30 p.m. (7/27/14):

Abilene Chief of Police Stan Standridge confirms a 19-year-old male died after being stabbed during an incident at The Grove early Sunday morning.

The investigation revealed two people had been stabbed and others had been assaulted. The other victim will recover. Police have a person of interest and obtained a capital murder warrant.

Update 4:40 p.m. (7/27/14):

Abilene police officers and detectives are actively searching for the suspect in connection with the stabbing and shooting incident at The Grove early Sunday morning.

Around 4 p.m., detectives and an officer showed up at a residence located on Red Hawk Circle in the Alameda Addition. An officer on scene said three people were taken in for questioning, although the suspect they are looking for was not inside the home.

Abilene police officers responded to an early morning incident at The Grove, an off-campus student housing in north Abilene.

At around 4 a.m. on Sunday, police were called out to the complex after gun shots were fired. Upon arrival, police found one person stabbed and another shot. The incident took place on the south end of the apartments.

Social media posts suggest a former Cooper High School football player was killed during the incident.

As of Sunday afternoon, no other information has been released but Chief of Police Stan Standridge will hold a press conference Monday, July 27th at 11:30 a.m. to discuss the details of the incident.

At this point, we do not know the extent of the injuries of the victims but we will provide more information as we get them.
