Update 4:30 p.m. (7/27/14):

Antonio Molina, 37, has been identified as the man arrested for leading police on a chase while driving in a truck with only two tires.

According to the arrest report, a police officer spotted Molina driving on rims after the tires of his Ford F150 blew out. The officer pursued Molina for several blocks and ended at a driveway in the 1400 block of North Willis Street.

The officer said he smelled alcohol from Molina. Upon the search, the officer found a small plastic bag with methamphetamine in his front pocket.

Molina was charged with evading arrest, possession of marijuana, and DWI with an open container. As of late Sunday afternoon, he is at the Taylor County Jail on bonds worth up to $5,500.

An Abilene man is in jail after he led police in a six-minute chase around a north Abilene neighborhood early Sunday morning.

Neighbors say the man had been driving his truck all day with only two tires. The chase is believed to have started after police tried to contact the man for driving with an incomplete set of tires, according to residents in the neighborhood.

The chase ended around 2 a.m. after the man pulled his truck with two rims exposed into the driveway of a home in the 1300 block of Fannin Street. Our crews on the scene say it was the passenger side tires that were gone.

Neighbors on the block say the man left the house in the same truck two or three times in the day with flat tires.
