Update: Northside Abilene Businesses Damaged In Shootings

Update 11/8/13
More reports of broken windows, this time dozens in Abilene report they woke up to discover their vehicle windows had been shot out.

In north Abilene; The 600 - 800 block of Westmoreland was hit, also the 2400 block of Burger Street, the 1100 - 2000 block of Beech, the 1100 block of Green, the 800 block of Shelton, and the 1500 block of Meadowbrook.

In south Abilene; The 2300 - 2500 block of Ross, 1100 block of Sycamore, and the 1000 block of S. 12th St.

These are just the latest reports and all were vehicle windows. Most were parked on the street, however there are also reports of plate glass windows in businesses being shattered. 

he Abilene Police are hoping that someone in the community either witnessed the shootings or have information on who caused the damage. If so, please call the Abilene PD or Crimestoppers at 676- TIPS (8477).

Update 11/7/13
Overnight, someone shot either a BB gun or air gun at the front windows of the Abilene Civic Center, causing around $1,600 in damage. You can see the small holes which span across at least nine panes.

Wooden boards now cover spaces left at two north side Abilene businesses, after multiple windows were shot out last night by unknown suspects. One shooting happened at Reliable Tax Service off North 6th Street and the other happened not too far away off North 3rd Street at 'American Classifieds'. Both owners and the police are left with no answers as to who's responsible for the attacks. The Abilene Police are hoping that someone in the community either witnessed the shootings or have information on who caused the damage. If so, they're asked to call either Abilene PD or Crimestoppers at 676- TIPS (8477).
