Update: The Trustee Inmate from Callahan County Has Been Identified

BAIRD, Texas - UPDATE: Callahan County Sheriff's Officials have called in more help from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a second chopper to search the area. 

According to the officials, they found the inmates clothes in a dumpster and on the ground. They also have police dogs searching the area. 

UPDATE:  The escape inmate has been identified as  32 year old Arthur Thurman. He has burns from a fire on his face and body, according to Callahan County Jail.

The search for an inmate in Callahan County is ongoing following his escape from the county jail.

Authorities with the Callahan County Sheriff's Office confirmed the escape to KTAB and KRBC News Thursday afternoon. 

According to the Sheriff's Office, the inmate who escaped was a trustee. 

The Sheriff's Office said the inmate was able to escape with the help of a friend who was used as the "getaway man." 

Deputies are searching the areas in an around Cisco.
