The victim of Saturday morning's shooting will live, though police say they are not being cooperative.

Original Story

Abilene police responded to a shooting in a north Abilene neighborhood Saturday morning.

They received the calls before 6 a.m. in the 800 block of Mesquite Street. Police shut down Mesquite Street, between North 8th and 9th as they looked for shell casings from the shots fired.

While they were looking for the shell casings, drops of blood were seen in front of the home where the shooting took place. Police also searched an empty lot across from the house.

Initial reports say they were searching for one man and one woman related to the case driving an SUV. Police went to several locations in north Abilene where they thought the vehicle might be.

The victim of the shooting was taken to Hendrick Medical Center. We'll provide more information as soon as we get them.
