According to our sister station KAMR, a fire that broke out near Fritch, Texas in Hutchinson County, about 35 miles northeast of Amarillo, on Sunday, May 11, has burned more than 75 homes.
Though no deaths or injuries have been reported, hundreds of people have been displaced. The Red Cross and Salvation Army have shown up to provide assistance, shelter and food.
The fire is now considered only around 35 percent contained, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.
