It happened about 6:30 p.m. behind a home in the 1400 block of North 19th street.
Fire crews arrived to find the storage building, which was used as an auto mechanic shop, and seven vehicles on fire.Firefighters worked to keep the fire contained to the shed and cars, and away from a nearby house. Because of the heavy fuel load around the shed, it took almost an hour to bring the fire under control.
"I just happened to see a little smoke starting, yelled at some people. We all came over here and checked it out. I looked over that fence and there was this huge shed all on fire," said witness Kevin Dossey.
