Charges dropped against woman arrested for having meth on bed near child

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - The Taylor County District Attorney's Office dropped charges against an Abilene woman accused of having meth on a bed near a child during a Forgery bust.

Elicia Fernandez, originally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Forgery in June of 2015, had the charges dismissed a few months later.

Frenanez's arrest report stated she was sitting on a bed holding a child inside a home on the 300 block of Peach Street when officers executed a search warrant to bust a suspected counterfeiting ring, and next to Fernandez and the child was a white substance later identified as methamphetamine.

The officer also found counterfeit bills upon further investigation and several others inside the residence were arrested alongside Fernandez.
