Cisco, Eastland, Clyde, and Brownwood are featured in the Top Match Ups in Week 2 of the 2014 season.

Cisco and Wall are 2 of the top programs in Class 3A, and they are set to meet in Week 2 in Wall. The Loboes have been to 5 state championship games in this century and won the title last year. Head coach Brent West's team starts the season ranked 2nd in Division II. Wall dominated opponents until their state championship game loss to Cameron Yoe. Wall enters the season ranked 5th in Division I. The running game will be featured in this one. Both teams like to stick to ground game, and they are 2 of the best in the state.

The Eastland Mavericks and the Clyde Bulldogs are set to clash in Week 2. The 2 Class 3A rivals are separted by just 39 miles, and both programs are expected to finish the year in the playoffs. Cliff Watkins takes over a program in Eastland that went to the 4th round of the playoffs. The Mavericks are ranked 9th in Class 3A Division II and picked 2nd in the district. Rocky Smart is building a program that could make a jump this year. The Bulldogs are picked 4th in district, but this game will give us a good idea of where they are in the development.

Speaking of getting an idea of where the program is early in the season, the Brownwood Lions are set to host rival Graham in Week 2. Youth is the word for Brownwood. The Lions, who are picked 4th in District 3-4A Division I,  could start as many as 5 sophomore for the 2nd year in a row. Graham, on the other hand, is loaded with returning talent that lead the Steers to the semifinals last year. Graham starts the season at number 3 in the Texas Football Magazine Top 10. It's a strong early test for Brownwood.

Abilene High leads the games that are worthy of mention in Week 2. The Eagles head way down to San Antonio to take on Warren High School. The Wylie Bulldogs continue their gauntlet of a schedule with 3rd round qualifier Burnet. Stamford gets another test at home with Munday. Both teams are picked to go to the playoffs this season.
