Abilene High Completes Season Sweep Of Cooper, 12-5

The Abilene High Lady Eagles completed the season sweep of crosstown rival Cooper on Tuesday with an 12-5 victory.

Cooper got on the board first in the 1st inning. Logan Usery drove in one run with a bloop double into shallow left field. It was Cooper's 1st run against Abilene High this season.

Abilene High answered in the 2nd inning. Lauren Campbell got things started with a base hit to left field. Christa Garcia scored to tie the game at 1.

Megan McGuiness finished the scoring in the 2nd with a single to center field. The hit scored Emily Campbell from second. The Lady Eagles led at that point and did not let go of that lead for the rest of the game.

After leading 7-5 in the 6th inning, Abilene High scored 5 runs in the top of the 7th inning to pull away.

The Lady Eagles are 5-10 in District 2-5A play. The Lady Cougars fall to 1-14 in district with the loss.
