Abilene High Impresses in Win Over Colleyville Heritage

The Abilene High Eagles were trying to bounce back after missing the playoffs in 2013. Tonight the Eagles hosted Colleyville Heritage at Shotwell Stadium.

The Eagles jumped out in front early when Derek Scott found his running back Abram Smith, who took it in for the score to put the Eagles up 7-0.

In the second quarter, Scott throwing again, and he connects with Jerimiah Alonzo for the score to put the Eagles up by 14.

The Eagles would get back into the endzone when Scott again found Alonzo, who made a diving catch in the endzone to put the Eagles 21 to 3 at the half.

Colleyville Heritage started to come back to cut the lead down to just four points, but from there it was all Abilene High. Scott found Alonzo for a third time to make it 28 to 17.

The Eagles would go on to take it 38 to 17.
