Abilene High started it's 3rd week of Spring football practice on Tuesday.

The Eagles entered the 4 weeks of work looking for 5 starters on offense and 5 starters on defense, and head coach Steve Warren says the competition has been tough.

They have completed more than half of the workouts in the Spring, and the coach expects his guys to finish strong.

Coach Warren said, "We are 10 practices in. We've got 8 to go. We do feel good about where we are. I feel like that the kids have worked really hard every day. We have not had a bad practice. We've had 2 really good scrimmages. We really got after each other pretty well, and we're staying relatively healthy, right now, so that's good to this point. Now, what we need to do is, you know it's been a grind, it always is when you have 10 practices in a span of 2 weeks, we need to continue to get better. We have a big scrimmage coming up at the end of this week. Hopefully, we can show progress there, as well."

The final scrimmage is the Black/Gold game at Shotwell Stadium next Friday night.

The Game of Champions precedes the Black/Gold game.
