The Abilene High Eagles cruised to a victory in the crosstown showdown thanks to a strong pitching performance by Payton Coffman.

The Eagles would strike first by scoring on a passed ball. Then they would add to it with an RBI to left field by Coffman to make it a 2-0 Abilene High lead.

Cooper's David Ruot would settle in and keep the Eagles off the board in the fifth inning with a strike out of Mark Pearson. The Abilene High bats would come to life once again a short time later with a base knock by Derek Scott that would drive in two more runs.

That would prove to be enough for Coffman. He would strike out seven Cougars in route to a complete game shutout victory with the 6-0 final.
