The Albany Lions had their season end at the hands of a highly ranked Wellington squad on Saturday afternoon in the state semifinals.

The Rockets got off the ground first with a long run by Terry Gilbreath for a touchdown to put Wellington up 7-0. They'd go up 14 to nothing a short time later.

Offense would be harder to find for the Lions. A pass from Drew Neece to Alex Faith to pick up a first down would get Albany moving down the field, but the drive would stall a short time later.

Then Wellington would find the endzone on a play that pretty much summed up the beginning of the game for Albany. Gilbreath was able to get inside the five yard-line but then fumbled into the endzone. A Rockets lineman was able to fall on the ball, and get the touchdown for Wellington.

That would put the Rockets up 21-0, and they would cruise from there to a 46-20 victory.
