The Tigers start the regional quarterfinal on Friday night in Ralls.
Anson has rolled through the 1st 2 rounds of the postseason with series' sweeps of Memphis and Hale Center.
They have a showdown with Stamford looming 2 weeks down the road, but they say they can't look that far down the road and still have success in the playoffs, right now.
Anson's Matt Villanueva said, "Coach has let us know that as we go on teams are going to get tougher. There's a reason they are still in the playoffs when we are. Each week in practice we focus more and more."
D.J. Walker added, "We try and keep the same mentality. We just take it game by game and series by series. We can't get to big headed. We've just got to stay within ourselves and just do our thing."
"I told these guys, as soon as we were going to start the playoffs, we can't look 3-4 rounds deep. We just have to take care of this week. If we don't take care of this week, there isn't a next week," said head coach Mario Estrada.
The Tigers start their 3rd round on Friday in Ralls. They take on New Deal for a berth in the regional semifinals. Game 1 starts at 7. The series finishes up at 1 on Saturday in Ralls.
