On Wednesday the Tigers made their first appearance in the state tournament in Round Rock, but it was short lived as Flatonia ended Anson's season with a 5-3 loss.
Two of the players that made perhaps the most noise during that game was shortstop Chase Finley and catcher Stetson Meek.
Meek's biggest contribution came from his arm. The senior threw out two Bulldogs to end two different innings, and kept the Tigers in the game early on.
The Tigers offense would struggle for the most part early, and would not get a hit until two outs in sixth inning. That hit would come from Finley in the form of a triple. He would come home a short time later, and help the Tigers cut the Flatonia lead down to just one run.
Finley, a junior, will be one of the Tigers biggest contributors returning for next season after Anson loses seven players of this years roster due to graduation.
That includes Meek, who will attend Vernon College to play baseball next year.
