The Hawley Bearcats are in the playoffs for the 1st time since 2006 after finishing the regular season in 2nd place in District 4-2A Division II.

The Bearcats have never won a playoff game, so being in is good.

Winning would be better.

"We know that we have a big opportunity this week .It hasn't been done. We want to be the first team to do it, to get a playoff win. Everybody is working really hard, focusing on their assignments. [Alpine] is a good team, and we have to be ready to play them and do our assignments," said Anthony Sites.

"Since we were in middle school, all we've talked about is doing good in high school, as a senior. Changing what we've always done in the past. Just being a different team. Pulling together and doing what we need to do," said "" Hooper.

"Especially as a senior, you want to leave a legacy. We want to leave a winning tradition for the younger teams. They're looking up to us. They want to be where we're at, and we want it to stay that way. Winning really hasn't been a tradition here, and we want to make it a tradition. That's our goal as a team this year," said Sites.

Hawley is headed to Seminole for that 1st playoff victory in school history. Their game with Alpine starts at 7:30 on Friday.
