The Coleman Bluecats are poised for what they hope is a breakout season in 2013 with 16 starters returning.

Coach Brad Ballard's team will also feature plenty of team speed with the players that are coming back, plus the younger players that will get more playing time this season.

"Our team speed has to carry us home, and those younger kids  have got to step up and make some plays for us. Our veterans have got to be big keys for us and be leaders  that we need them to be," said head coach Brad Ballard.

The players are also eager to get on the field this year.

"Our offense is fast paced. We'll tire some people out. We'll be in shape. Everyone is pumped. We're ready for our pads on Friday. Everyone thinks they're in shape, but when we get out there running," said Draven DeLaGarza.

"We did just start a new offense, but everyone's pretty much got everything down pretty quick and easy going. It should be helpful," said Daulton Allen.

While the Bluecats have plenty of skill players back on the field this year, they will have to replace much of their offensive line.

"We have some good young kids coming up. We have eight returning starters on both sides of the ball, which is good but we did lose some linemen. We've got some holes there that we've got to take care of," said Ballard.

The Bluecats will have little time to get that offensive line up to speed with a match-up against Wall to kick-off the season in Coleman.
