Bulldogs show they're balanced

October 30, 2017 - The Wylie Bulldogs rolled to a 3-0 record in district play on Friday night with a 27-7 victory over the Snyder Tigers.

Wylie flipped the script on the Tigers a little bit.

The Bulldogs box score usually shows more run yards than passing yards, but  not last week. Sam King was 14 of 22 for 257 yards, and he threw three touchdown passes.

It was a big day for King and the receivers, and it's important for that part of the Bulldogs game to show some life.

Sam King said, "Oh yeah I love passing the ball. I mean being the quarterback I mean that's the fun part. Running the ball is just as fun. I mean handing the ball off to Brady and Cason."

Hugh Sandifer said, "I think we try to be balanced, just some nights if the running game's going well and we've got a lead we're able to control the clock a little bit that way. We were able to throw for about 260 the other night and 3 touchdowns passing, so I think some of that was by design, and some of it was by the way Snyder was playing. We feel like we can try to run it and throw it, and the other night it was working throwing the football."

The Bulldogs are open this week.

They can win their third straight outright district championship with a win over Stephenville next week.
