Cisco and Stamford Among the Top Ranked Teams, 3 Others Ranked by Harris

The Cisco Loboes and Stamford Bulldogs remain among the top teams in the state heading to AT&T Stadium.

Cisco is once again the top ranked team in Class 2A Div. II after a convincing 55-6 win over Leonard on Saturday afternoon. The Loboes were able to jump out a quick 42-0 lead in the first half as they punched their ticket to AT&T Stadium and the state championship game.

They will now take on second ranked Refugio on Thursday night in a rematch of the 2011 Class 2A Div. II state title game.

Meanwhile Stamford remains in the second spot in Class 1A Div. I after a win over tenth ranked Hico. With the victory Stamford secured their third straight trip to AT&T Stadium.

The Bulldogs will take on top ranked Shiner on Thursday morning after the Comanches knocked off the previous number one team in the state, Mart.

As for the rest of the Big Country, the Albany Lions remain at number six after having their season come to an end at the hands of top ranked Wellington. The Lions finished the season with an impressive 13-1 record.

The Eastland Mavericks jumped one stop this week after Wall eliminated New Boston in the semifinals.

Anson drops two spots in Class 1A Div. I this week to number seven after holding on to the fifth spot since being eliminated by Stratford.
