The Cooper Cougars picked up their first district win of the season against Lubbock Coronado on Tuesday afternoon.

Cooper would jump out in front in the early innings after a base knock by Josh Hale drove in Tyler Jenkins to put the Coogs up by one.

It looked like that could be all the Cougars needed with Jonathan Nicholson on the mound. He would strike out Nick Baker with the high heat in a 1-2-3 inning to keep the score at 1-0.

The Cougars would add another run to that, and hold on for a 2-1 win over the Mustangs. Cooper will take on Permian next this Saturday afternoon at Cougar Field.
