The Cooper Cougars entered the spring looking for 11 new starters, 5 of offense and 6 on defense, for the 2014 season, and the work to find the new starting 22 continues for head coach Todd Moebes.

Coach Moebes says the 1st 2 weeks of practice have gone well, and he says the team is coming along.

"Defensively we're doing a really good job of fitting. Our fits look good and they're clean. Even with some young guys that we've got in there. They're really learning from the older guys," said head coach Todd Moebes.

The players on the offensive side of the ball are also seeing results in spring ball.

"We feel really good right now. We've improved in our offensive line, really because we had some starters leaving and we had to fill those spots. It's pretty much all we need to do. We're good," said running back Skylar Wilson.

"We hope to improve everywhere. For the next two weeks of spring ball every body is coming out, trying to get after each other, every body is trying to get on top of the ball. We're trying to go out and win a state championship this year," said Hunter Hawkins.

The Cougars wrap up spring practice on May 22nd with their annual Red-Blue Spring Game.
