The Cooper Cougars are back at home for their 2nd game of the season in the Little Southwest Conference.

Even though the team is coming off a disappointing loss to Midland Lee, the Cougars receivers had their best game of the season against the Rebels.

6 receivers combined to catch 13 passes from Lorenzo Joe with 2 touchdowns.

Receiver Denver Gravitt said, "Lorenzo trusted us, but now there's in game proof for all of us that we can throw the ball. We are capable of that, along with our running game, and we can really be a good balanced multi-dimensional offense, now.

Tight end Dustin Stille added, "The consistency helps Lorenzo. You build trust with him, and that's what a quarterback needs. He needs to trust you to be able to throw the ball to you. I mean once you get to know him, we all work together, he builds trust with you, and he knows he can throw the ball to you."

It's homecoming for the Cougars this week. Lubbock Coronado comes to town. Both teams are looking for their 1st win in district.
