The Cooper Cougars dropped another tough one on Friday night to San Angelo Central.

The Bobcats would strike first on Friday night with a pass from Mickey Scott to Austin Bell to get Central on the board 7-0.

A scary moment for the Coogs would come on their first drive of the game when quarterback Lorenzo Joe went down temporarily with an injury. He would return to the game though but with a hand cast.

Later on the drive, Trey Dye would find the endzone with a 41 yard touchdown run to tie the game at 7-7.

The Bobcats would retake the lead in the second quarter, but Lorenzo Joe would return and have a big impact immediately.

First Joe found Denver Gravitt for a long pass for a first down. Then Joe found Caleb Freeman for a touchdown pass to tie the game at 14.

The Coogs would take the lead on their next possession, but this time with a touchdown run by Joe. That would give Cooper their first lead of the game at 21-14.

A Joe to Dye connection would extend the lead later in the quarter.

It's the second half where Central would make their move. First a touchdown run by Huck would tie the game at 28.

Then with less than a minute remaining in the gaame Scott would get the ball to the seven yard-line on a quarterback keeper. That would be close enough for the Bobcats to knock down a game winning field goal and secure a Bobcat victory at 31-28.

The Cougars will now have their bye week before the bi-district round of the playoffs in a couple weeks.
