The Cooper Cougars have jumped out to a 5 and 2 record in district 2-5A play.

One reason for the Cougars great start is the offense, which averages just under 44 points per game.

The offense, led by seniors Lorenzo Joe and Trey Dye, is almost unstoppable with the ability to go and put points up on every drive, and its something the Cougars take a lot of pride in.

Lorenzo Joe said, "This year the offense has been clicking really well. It starts up front with the line, the line has been doing a great job opening up the holes. Receivers have been doing a great job blocking and catching the ball. Running backs have been doing a great job finding those holes and making something happen, and I've been doing the same thing. Finding the receivers and running the ball also."

Trey Dye said, "It's good to open up our playbook, giving everybody an opportunity to show the hard work that they've put in every single week and during the off-season and everything. It's just cool to have the opportunity that we have as an offense."

The Cougars play their regular season finale tomorrow night against San Angelo Central at Shotwell Stadium.
